I spent a wonderful afternoon celebrating Reading Across America at La Mirada Academy. The students related well to How Will I Talk to Abuela? As soon as I pronounced “abuela” multiple hands went up. They smiled and giggled, “I have an abuela.” “ I call her abuelita.” “My abuelita’s name is Maria.” and on and on. Many asked if I could read the book again the following day!
San Marcos Elementary School
Sharing my children’s books with San Marcos Elementary School parents and children. It was a nice crowd of 50-60 people. Thanks to the principal and ELSC coordinator for welcoming me to their PTO night.
